Jah Observer leaves behind a huge legacy, with their music having touched the hearts of so many people from so many different backgrounds. The sounds first appearance at carnival was in 1979 and since then they have continued to provide the sweetest musical selection along with the most welcoming atmosphere you are likely to find. People travel from all over the world to reach this very special corner of carnival and Jah Observer’s yearly performance at the event has played a huge role in spreading both sound system culture and roots reggae’s positive message all over the world.

When Austin appeared as Solution’s first ever guest, back in the summer of 2000, it immediately became apparent to us that the personalities behind the sound were every bit as warm and uplifting as the music that they played. Since this first encounter there have been numerous meetings between the two sounds and every session has proved to be a musical education.

It is therefore a great honour that Austin and Tracey have entrusted their much loved spot at carnival to Solution Sound System. We hope to continue the story from where they left off, bringing our own individuality whilst paying tribute to all the good times so many of us have had in this special corner of carnival. Most importantly, we hope that whenever possible Austin and Tracey will make the journey back, with a big box of records to share in many more memorable times. Let’s hope that we are welcoming them both home before we know it.
